Sydney's first School Disco organized. She got to dance with all her friends and teacher. Christy and Thomas were present there as well. For Thomas an opportunity to try out the new camera. While most pictures did not turn out as expected (or better hoped for) there are a few that were quite good.
Sydney had a blast and was excited all evening long. I am sure she will be going to the next one again.

Once more did we quickly head out to the Dangenong Ranges so that Sydney could get some time outside. Both, Sydney and Christy are on the brink of getting sick; sop we had to be quick, yet still wanted to spend a little bit of time outside. (Especially after spending almost all Saturday inside the house.)
Thomas got to continue playing with the camera. if these birds just stayed quiet. The focus this time was to concentrate on the rule of threes. As you may see, it did not always work as planned.
As can be seen in one of the pictures, the Dandenongs as they are locally referred to remind us of the Jurassic Park movie. Very tall tree and huge ferns. There is a lush vegetation and the temperature is noticeably cooler in the summer.

Sydney has not been at her beloved Carnival for a long time. Throughout winter, whenever we went to Costco, either the weather was not playing along, the timing was not right or Sydney was at the verge of getting sick.
Today the stars aligned and Sydney was super excited to make it to the "Carnival" opposite from Costco.
After a few hours of going on most of the rides including the jumping castle, walking on water, the tea cup ride and many more, Sydney was very exhausted and happy to go home.

For a second time in 2012 were we blessed to visit the US. Christy and Sydney left at the beginning of October with destination California. The flight was as long as ever. These are the moments when one figures out how far Australia is from any international destination. They arrived in Los Angeles and were picked up by their father/grandfather David. Christy tried to get them Disneyland, yet Sydney was so tired that she would just not wake up and slept continuously through the afternoon, nibbling on some bacon to fall asleep through the night again. So Disneyland ended up being a non starter and the three headed back to Fresno the next day. (Luckily they had a prearranged hotel in LAX.)
In the Fresno area, Christy and Sydney got to spend some time with David, Nancy, Nathan, Gina, relatives and friends. They had a fantastic time. Sydney loved to play with Rusty and Ginger, David's and Nancy's dogs. They also got to visit Delilah and Nick and spent a great time with their kids. (Another moment Sydney treasured.)
Soon enough it was time for Christy and Sydney to think about moving on. They drove to Santa Cruz where they spent the night on Grandpa's boat. This was another memorable time for Sydney. She loved every moment and kept talking about sleeping on the boat and fishing with Grandpa.
From Santa Cruz, the two drove to San Jose where they took a plane to Sin-City (Las Vegas) where Thomas meanwhile had travelled to. He participated at a conference and stayed in Las Vegas for a week. We met up and had a great week together. The weather was nice and warm, so being in the pool was still an option. In addition Sydney got to do various other things including visiting the Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay.
Too soon the trip came to an end and we all flew back to Melbourne.

On the 28th of October we had the pleasure of being part in Emilia G. Whatley's big day. She was christened in the Albert Street Uniting Church in Brisbane. Many family members, relatives and friends participated at this special ceremony.
Sydney was all excited, she just loves the Whatley kids!.
